“Add-on Tactile Integration Platform for Accelerating Imitation Learning in Physical AI” Selected for NEDO’s NEP Leap Course (Yakushin 3000)

commissure has been selected for the “Leap Course (Yakushin 3000)” of the FY2026 NEDO Entrepreneurs Program (NEP), a deep tech talent discovery and entrepreneur development program run by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).

Under this project, we will develop tactile modules that can be attached both to UMI devices — handheld tools used to collect data as a person demonstrates a task — and to the robots that execute the learned motions, along with software that feeds the resulting data into training. The aim is to capture the pressure and contact states that occur when a person handles objects with the device, and make that data usable for robots learning the same tasks.

commissure will apply this R&D to on-site data collection with UMI, robot training and validation on real hardware, and deployment support for companies. By bringing the knowledge of haptics and embodied informatics cultivated at the University of Tokyo to social issues such as labor shortages and skill transfer, we will continue to expand our business in the Physical AI domain.
